The 13th annual Apple Pickin’ jubilee will be held on Weekends-  Sept. 13-14,

Sept. 20-21 and September 27-28.

Pick your own apples, Milk Buttercup the cow.  Meet Barney the Talking Bull. Ride the Time Twister back to the early 1900’s.   An Operating gristmill will be grinding corn and selling cornmeal.  Grandma’s Bakery will be serving Fried Pies, apple cider and apple fritters.  There will be mountain barbecue and other vittles.  For more info call 706-273-3838

Zooma has teamed with Atlanta based humanitarian organization CARE to inspire women to get fit. ZOOMA Atlanta will be the second event in the new national series of women’s half marathons and will offer a half marathon , 5K, jog stroller 5K and a kids fun run.

The ZOOMA after party will combine a typical post-race party with a fun “girls weekend” atmosphere.

CARE, a global poverty fighting organization will work with Zooma . A percentage of each registration fee will go to CARE’S I am Powerful campaign.

           PricewaterhouseCoopers held a bake sale hosted by Regency Suites Hotel July 9,  for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  This is one of the many events planned in an effort to raise funds for LLS prior to the Light The Night Walk to be held at Centennial Olympic Park October 11, 2008.  Last year over $36 million was raised nationally to support the mission.  Georgia was the SECOND highest revenue generating walk in the nation!!  For more information click here
